The Walks
All the walks are led by
experienced local walkers
or guest experts. Whatever the weather,
the leader of the walk
will be at the start to
meet you. In extremely
bad conditions or through
enfectious disease such
as Foot and Mouth, we
reserve the right to alter
the route or cancel the
walk altogether.
Getting to
the start
Don't worry if you haven't got a car because
many of the walks start
to public transport
facilities. Please check
local timetables for
details. If you are driving
to our walks, please
remember not to leave
valuables in your car.
If you know someone
who is coming, why not
share a car to help the
environment?
What to
bring
Wear strong walking
boots or shoes and carry
waterproofs, spare
clothes, food and drink
in small rucksack. If you
wish to purchase a map,
the number you require
is Landranger 167/168
Colchester, Halstead and
Maldon.
Can I manage
the walk?
All the walks in
this
programme require
moderate exertion.
However, this can alter
according to the weather,
as muddy conditions
require more effort.
Whether it is a short
stroll or an all day hike,
walking is one of the
best ways to explore the
countryside. The walks
in this programme offer
a chance to learn about
the countryside, improve
health and have fun.
